1. Who we are
TrebleStats ("we", "us", "our") is a football statistics website operated at treblestats.co.uk. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller for personal data collected through this site.

2. What data we collect
We do not require you to create an account or submit personal information to use this site. Data we may collect includes:
- Usage data — pages visited, time on site, referring URL, device type, browser, and approximate location (country/city level), collected via Google Analytics.
- Cookie preferences — your consent choices stored locally in your browser.
- Comments — if you post a comment on an article, we store the name you give, your comment text, and your IP address. Your IP address is used only to prevent spam and is never displayed publicly. Comments are reviewed before appearing on the site; your name and comment text become publicly visible once approved.
3. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies. You can manage your preferences at any time via the cookie icon at the bottom-left of the page.

4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with the site. GA4 collects data such as pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate location. This data is processed by Google and provided to us in aggregated, anonymised reports.
We have enabled IP anonymisation in GA4. We do not use GA4 to identify individuals. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
We process your data on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings icon.
- Legitimate interests — for necessary cookies required to remember your cookie preferences, which is necessary for the operation of the site.
- Consent — for comments, by choosing to submit one. Your IP address is processed under our legitimate interest in preventing spam.
6. Third-party services
This site uses the following third-party services which may process your data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics
- Google Fonts — used to load website typefaces. Your browser connects directly to Google's servers to fetch these fonts, which means your IP address is shared with Google. No cookies are set by this connection.
- Silktide (consent management)
- Buy Me a Coffee — powers the floating support widget on this site. It sets a cookie to remember whether you've already seen its welcome message; no personal data is collected unless you choose to make a payment, which is handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee.
We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party other than as described above.
7. Data retention
Comment submissions (name, comment text, and IP address) are stored on our own servers until approved or removed by us; there is no fixed automatic deletion period, but you can request removal at any time (see Section 9). Analytics data held by Google is retained for 14 months by default.
8. International data transfers
Google Analytics and Google Fonts are provided by Google, which processes data on servers located outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, Google relies on the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum (or equivalent Standard Contractual Clauses) to provide an adequate level of protection for your data. 9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data where there is no compelling reason to continue processing it
- Restriction — request we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — at any time for consent-based processing, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

10. Children
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Statistical data disclaimer
Statistics and data displayed on this site are sourced from third-party providers and automated systems. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of information provided. Use of this site and reliance on any information is at your own risk.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
